Our Story
A FAMILY RUN BUSINESS WITH A PASSION FOR BESPOKE INTERIORS
Lee’s roots have always been in design, joinery and manufacturing and he has been unwaveringly passionate about cabinetry with a real attention to detail. This led him to work with a local, high end property developer, installing kitchens that far exceeded what you’d typically find on the high street.
Through this work Lee recognised that there was a clear gap in the Teesside market for beautifully crafted, luxury kitchens and he knew he had the skill, drive and vision to fill it!
That vision became Barker & Co: a company built on the belief that great design and fine craftsmanship should be accessible, bespoke and tailored to everyone’s budget.

Lee Barker is at the heart and soul of Barker and Co. Lee has been a passionate cabinet maker for decades. His love for design and bespoke interiors is the inspiration behind everything we do!

Barker & Co now operates from our very own factory in Middlesbrough, with a welcoming showroom in Yarm. By keeping everything in house—from design to production to installation—we’re able to maintain complete quality control every step of the way. That means no compromises, no excuses, and no passing the blame. We take full responsibility and pride in everything we create.

Starting off just with luxury kitchens, very soon the Barker & Co reputation for high end kitchens led to customers right across Teesside asking for the same quality and attention to detail with wardrobes and bedroom cabinets and onto understairs transformations and office installations too.
We even have a large client base of experienced, luxury, kitchen fitters who will only recommend their customers to Barker and Co to choose one of our luxury kitchens. We are delighted that our reputation and work has led to them choosing us over others… it shows we must be getting it right!
